"Coalbrookdale"

"Coalbrookdale"
A bit closer to home this time, a misty morning in winter (the hostelries on either side of the picture are highly recommended...)

"Dunstanburgh"

"Dunstanburgh"
..on the Northumberland coast, a pleasant walk along the grassy shore path from Craster

"Ironbridge"

"Ironbridge"
Not the usual view; this archway runs under the north end of the famous bridge. The "wee dug" trotted along at just the right time

"Waiting for the season"

"Waiting for the season"
Boats on the river Wear in Durham, ready for the tourists later in the year

"Lealt Bothy"

"Lealt Bothy"
The Trotternish, Skye salmon fishermen's bothy is beginning to moulder, as the diatomite works did many years ago

"Pound Lane Cottage"

"Pound Lane Cottage"
....on a frosty Christmas day, an "escape the turkey" stroll. Sadly, it was demolished a year or so ago

"Whitby Abbey"

"Whitby Abbey"
The ancient gravestones, blackened along their top edges, give the impression of having being "burned in"....

"Sandyhills"

"Sandyhills"
The tide goes out for miles at Sandyhills, on the Solway coast west of Dumfries. This was apparently a wartime structure, for bomb-aiming purposes. Anyone know more?

"Helmsley"

"Helmsley"
The sun lights the ancient stonework of Helmsley Castle, framing the view to Duncombe Park

Let me know what you think of these pictures - I might put some more up given sufficient encouragement!
