The view from the driver's seat. I rode from
Derby Castle to Laxey on the open bench beside
the driver - and was nearly deafened by the
frequent tooting of the whistle as we approached
numerous minor roads and paths crossing the line.

beyond.

A rare event - the 2 No. 1s - IMR "Sutherland"
paces MER No 1 on the climb to Fairy Cottage near
Laxey. After half an hour of sunshine, the squall
rushed down the glen - the rain spatters the lens.
Less than a minute later the sun shone brightly....
