"GWR"

Most of Kenneth's photos were taken in the territories of the former LMS and LNER - however, there are a few taken in other parts of the country. Here's a selection taken on former GWR metals.

0-4-2T 1458 stands at Oswestry station with, I'm guessing, a train for Gobowen
7807 "Compton Manor" is at its home shed, Chester West.
Another 0-4-2T, 1417, looks as though its days are numbered at Chester West
...but 2-8-0 3820 is still in steam, also at Chester West
Swansea - 1152 was built by Peckett for Powlesland and Mason
1103 was built by Avonside for the GWR. Danygraig
Also at Danygraig is 1143, another Peckett, built for the Swansea Harbour Trust
We're still in south Wales, I'd guess, with these heavy freight 2-8-2 tanks - 7200, first of the class...
...and sister engine 7225
5220 is one of the original 2-8-0 locomotives, of which the 2-8-2s were a rebuild
5616, an 0-6-2T for service in the valleys, looks like it's ex-works
5970 "Hengrave Hall"
2-8-0 no. 3839
2-6-0 no. 7310
Pannier 3758 is on a passenger working at Swindon
A trio of panniers - 6772 is at its home shed - 86B, Newport (Pill)
6926 "Holkham Hall"
5918 "Walton Hall"
6818 "Hardwicke Grange"
