Just a couple of days beforehand, the weather looked like being better on the Sunday. It wasn’t - it was wet. The light rain was interspersed with heavier rain, and it didn’t dry up, as the forecast had suggested, later in the afternoon. It seemed to be on the mend as we looked around the shed and workshop, but that was an illusion.
Despite the rain, we had an enjoyable time. The lunchtime pastie was excellent, and our visit to the workshop was both interesting and informative. The five steam locomotives did their best to entertain us - and of course the steam hung nicely in the air (against a flat grey sky...). It’s fun here at Amerton, even when it rains.
