© Geoff’s Rail Diaries 2011 I forget the precise purpose of this trip - always assuming there was one... I think it was just a half- term day out, before the clocks went back and the dark nights really set in. As often happens, the weather wasn't kind to us - it was dull and grey in Preston, and by the time our train arrived at Blackpool South it was pouring down. We decided to head eastwards, in search of dryer weather, and got as far as Hebden Bridge, where the station has been renovated in the style of the old Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway - very attractive ironwork and canopies, and proper signs. Still very dull though. Anyway, here are a few pictures as a record of the trip - a rainy day in Lancashire and Yorkshire... 142 042 at Preston 20 092 and 20 192 142 046, Blackpool South "Macdonalds" - tram in the rain, Blackpool SD car no. 678, Blackpool SD car no 630, Blackpool Rigby Road depot, Blackpool 156 459 stands at Hebden Bridge Hebden Bridge 156 498 arrives at Hebden Bridge 156 498 stands at Hebden Bridge
