I’d never heard of this little line until a couple of days ago - when I spotted a reference to it on a blog. SCMES - Sutton Coldfield Model Engineering Society - have a miniature railway at Little Hay, near Shenstone. I don’t think it’s generally open to the public, except on a few special occasions, such as a bank holiday. We don’t usually go out on bank holidays, but perhaps today we might make an exception... The layout is basically oval - a dual 7¼” / 5” track consisting of concentric interlinked loops, an elevated track for the smaller gauges, and an SM 32 garden railway for the little radio-controlled jobs. And a tea room. What more could one ask? A most enjoyable little outing - just the job for this unusually-fine and sunny bank holiday. Links: SCMES BrownhillsBob's Brownhills Blog
