Some seven years later, in February 1976 I paid a brief visit. It being a Saturday, nothing was going on, but we were able to photograph the railway and (some of) its locomotives. A couple of years later - in July 1978 - I returned, on a weekday, to be rewarded with some smoky action from two of the resident Rustons. A variety of motive power was used here. The IRS “Industrial Locomotives 1976” lists four locomotives - MR 7191 of 1937, and RHs 191658/1938, 210960/1941 and 237914/1946. By January 1979 (“Industrial Locomotives 1979”) the Motor Rail had gone, and RH 210960 had been replaced by RH222101 of 1943. Sadly, within a year or two, use of the railway ceased. Happily, some of the locomotives live on. The Motor Rail is at Threlkeld, albeit dismantled. RH 222101 of 1943 is at Telford (Horsehay), and RH 237914 of 1946 lives on at Apedale, home of the Moseley Railway Trust in Staffordshire. RH191658 did enter preservation, it appears, going to the Festiniog Railway in 1982, It was taken to Worcestershire in 1991 - but is no longer listed by the IRS...   RH191658 of 1938 RH 237914 of 1946 MR 7191 of 1937 RH191658 of 1938 ? RH 237914 of 1946 ? RH191658 of 1938 February 1976 July 1978 On putting this page together, more than 30 years later, I struggled with the identities of the locos depicted - thanks are due to Tim Jeffcoat for confirming some of my earlier guesses. The Feb. 76 photos show RHs 191658 and 237914, and MR 7191 on the gantries inside the works.  The Rustons seen in action in July 1978 are 222101 (the cabless loco), and 237914
