In response to a number of enquiries about the Westoe colliery system - the Harton Railway - here is the full set... The locomotives are nos. 13, 14 and 15, English Electric 2308 of 1957, and 2599 and 2600 of 1959. We also noted a much older specimen - no.9, AEG1565 of 1913. Sadly, it scuttled away quickly before we could take a photo of it, though it can be seen in the enlarged view of no. 13 below. The photos are taken at Westoe Colliery itself, and at the sidings at the former St Hilda colliery and Harton Low Staithe. A great read! Geoff
