In the 1980s I began to travel our railway network more extensively, mostly using railtours and a variety of special offers, such as railrovers, "Inter-City days out" and the memorable "Persil" vouchers. Many of these trips were written up at the time and published in the Shropshire Railway Society newletter. These articles are offered below, in the hope that some web visitors may find them of interest.
