Jack drifts down towards Leadhills station © Geoff’s Rail Diaries 2011 The weather’s not quite so good today... Most of the group set off for a ride on the steam railway. I got off at Port Soderick to walk back towards Keristal, to photograph a couple of trains,  before returning to the railway to ride on to Castletown for lunch. Having lunched, it was time for the double header leaving for Port Erin behind No.1 and Caledonia. I had to borrow a bootlace (!) to tie the video camera to railings, in order to get video and slide... Back to Santon, the weather now quite dull, for a couple of snaps of the westbound train, before joining the next Douglas-bound service - the returning double- header. ------ Wednesday evening is Groudle Glen evening - for a ride on the rejuvenated 2 foot gauge line, advertised (in the glen) as the only railway running uphill to the sea. (Three) Four* locos were in steam here - Sea Lion, Hunslet "Jonathan" and Kerr Stuart "Peter Pan". It was bit too dark for slides - I concentrated on the video. * The fourth loco being "Annie" - an 0-4-2T built by R Booth in 1997, and resident at Groudle Glen. I've only just realised (1 March 2011, after re-editing the video) that she was there and in steam - look closely though, she's only visible for a moment...
