Pocinho is near the head of the valley, last junction on the
route to the Spanish border at Barca d'Alva. Three more of
the attractive 4-6-0s are seen in action. Their crews were
getting used to railway photographers, and responded to an
upward wave of both arms with a quick adjustment to the
oil-feed, resulting in the unhealthy but photogenic "clag" in
the first picture. Pocinho was host to an interesting little
narrow gauge pilot locomotive, No E41, seen above. Not to be outdone,
Regua had its own pilot too, none other than E1, seen left.
